- is an interface definition for the creation of submodels in the form of modules, using
"arbitrary" simulation languages (module generator)
- the modules can be integrated as submodules into all simulators, which support SMI (module simulator)
The Advantages
- simple creation of modules and libraries
- easy exchangability (e.g. among working groups)
- numerical correct computation of the full module
- easy module coupling
- everybody can model with his simulator (create modules)
- everybody can simulate with his simulator (use modules)
- models can be distributed without the model source (knowledge protection)
